Alesha Dixon on Susan Boyle
These days there isn’t a celebrity in the UK that is either asked about or comments on Susan Boyle’s audition in Britain’s Got Talent.
Susan Boyle’s Youtube video which has been viewed more than 190,000,000 times has produced enough tears to fill a swimming pool and and one of the main reasons for those tears is the shame we feel after discovering that such a beautiful voice comes out of such a normal non-glammed-up package, we all judge books by their covers and as Amanda Holden said, Susan Boyle’s audition was one of the best wake up calls.
Another celebrity to comment on that is Alesha Dixon in her Interview for Wales Online, when asked what she though of Susan Boyle’s makeover she replied:
“It’s her body and her skin.
“It’s about expressing who you are, not what you look like.
“The Susan Boyle thing is just a perfect illustration of the fact that we should never judge a book by its cover, because a lot of people thought she was going to be a joke, purely because of the way she looked, yet she had a beautiful voice.
“I think in this country we are guilty of putting people on a pedestal for looking a certain way but, thankfully, in this country it is also about character and she proved she has character.”
It still seems to be all about Susan Boyle’s looks and not about her singing. Susan has one of the most beautiful voices ever heard since Julie Andrews and that’s what made people emotional, in a way I still think people and above all media are judging Susan by her appereance and they are forgetting about how nice is to hear her sing.
