“I won’t let Simon make her go to his dentist and I certainly won’t be letting her go to his hairdresser. She needs to stay exactly as she is because I think that’s the reason we love her, she just looks like anybody else that could live in our street”
This is what Amanda Holden has to say about a Susan Boyle make over, and I think she is dead to the point right.
The “Susan Effect” is a perfect example on how in grim times, people need to believe that they can achieve something better if the work hard enough.
Here is a recording that Susan did of “Cry me a River” a few years ago for a charity CD, only 1000 copies were produced, so it’s a rarity:
You can hear in this track the perfect pitch of Susan’s voice so sweet it sound like a recording from Patsy Cline or Ella Fitzgerald.
Articles about Susan Boyle seem to concentrate on her looks and I’m not going to be any different, for rarely you see such kindness and boldness in a show biz face. I must admit I was feeling a bit sorry when she first came in front of the judges, I thought it was going to be one of those embarrassing moments that nowadays we are so used to in this type of programs.
I was sooooooooo wrong, from the moment she started singing Susan engthat is with the public and not because nobody expected her to sing as well because of her looks, but because her voice is genuinely sweet, the first think I thought of is how would it be to have a mother that sings to you like that before going to bed, maybe because she reminded me of Julie Andrews in the “Sound of Music”.
I sincerely hope once Susan Boyle becomes a recording artist they don’t change her appearance more than she wants to, she is a fine middle age woman with a face that reflects kindness of heart, so nobody should change that.
